The Foundation leadership team and the OpenInfra Board have been exploring a significant opportunity: joining forces with the Linux Foundation. Read the full update on the OpenInfra Foundation public mailing list.
On March 11, the Board of Directors approved a set of resolutions to begin the process of joining the Linux Foundation and transferring the existing assets into the new organization. Jonathan Bryce shared his thoughts on this opportunity on the OpenInfra blog. The next step in the process will be receiving consent from the existing members of the Open Infrastructure Foundation in early April. Pending approval from the members, we will begin to transfer assets, transfer corporate members and staff over the coming months. Eventually the current Delaware corporation will be wound down once all operations have been transitioned.

Four rounds of open community meetings took place to discuss the consideration and to review draft governance documents to ensure everyone has an opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns.
